What is a Personal Brand and why might you want to create yours?
You might have heard about building a Personal Brand, and wondered what the buzz is all about.
Personal Brand is based on the idea that people buy from people. And moreover, they buy from people they feel connected to. To help with that feeling of connection, one powerful way is to share what makes you unique in your marketplace.
Say you’re an accountant, who’s also passionate about yoga. Although your passion for yoga has (arguably) very little to do with your capability to provide an awesome accountancy service, your dream audience might connect over that very fact. So they are more likely to choose you over another accountant who isn’t into yoga, or hasn’t shared about it. Check out this example of yogi accountant Sue Voss.
We often think that we are factual buyers, taking objectively all the facts & figures into account when buying a product or service. The truth though is that we’re very much emotional buyers, who buy from brands and people we like and trust.
So, to increase the often mentioned know, like and trust factor, you can share more of what makes you uniquely you.
What are your passions, likes and quirks that you might want to weave into your Personal Brand? Are you passionate about crocheting, into personal development, keen on baking etc.?
